here are some obvious truths.


  1. there is very little matter between the skin and bone of the elbow. 
  2. if you listen really close, everything hums.
  3. once, we peddled to the mall to get cups of peach soup and it was better than ice cream.
  4. the lights in the hallways are too bright 
  5. fountains. 
  6. Laughter feels hollow and thick and sticky and i 
  7. am wading away and i 
  8. cold showers i 
  9. am i am i am
  10. the punctuation differs daily.
  11. victory comes in the shape of rice flour.
  12. are you, when was the last time, really, why not?
  13. the only reason i get out of bed is to water a singular plant with a singular leaf.
  14. that plant has saved me many times.
  15. stage fright matures like a ripe cheese and definitions are not stagnant.
  16. we are different people for different people.
  17. i didn't realize truth could expire, and i am sorry.
  18. the worst part of theatre is after, when there are so many and so much and all i want is to go and as soon as i go i wish i'd stayed.
  19. cold wood floors and kombucha, it is disgusting.
  20. i remember most things, specifically the things i want to forget most.
  21. spellcheck doesn't recognize 'kombucha.'
  22. i have freckles and acne and double rows of eye lashes and stretch marks and knees that like to pop out and heels that crack and wrists that don't bend and being an actual, physical thing is pretty cool but also freakish.
  23. you'll probably never see them again.
  24. eating in front of people still feels a little like the numbing gel they dab on gums at the dentist.
  25. maybe we all assume everyone thinks like us. 
  26. sometimes i wish i believed in a god, because it would all feel safer and a little less meandering-ish, but then i remember i believe in love and that is enough. 
  27. once there was a dead hummingbird and it was doubly as dead as it had been alive
  28. everything is a multiple
  29. and i buried it (flung it) over our neighbor's fence.
  30. there were five of us, hal, christeen, mildred, clifford, and berlene.
  31. we rode horses to school.
  32. well i just looked you up, ms. berlene, and it turns out christeen's name was actually alice.
  33. your mother died in the same hospital i was born in thirty-three years later. 
  34. a couple of magpies landed on the window ledge yesterday and i wondered if you'd sent them before i realized you can't do that.
  35. she is sixteen and i've known her since we were four and i am walking out of her party
  36. because it's all too much and this is selfish and no, it's okay, just not feeling great and i
  37. am so, so ashamed.
  38. anyone has the potential to mean something to you. 
  39. i know nothing. 
  40. did you know 'reciprocate' is perhaps the ugliest word?
  41. there was a crab apple tree, but in hindsight, the rusty green chairs seem more important.
  42. it all smelled like dew.
  43. my sister says that lovey-dovey movie scenes make her gassy, which is gross, and she is the real-ist person i've ever known.
  44. scabs copy and paste
  45. you cannot be too young to love someone. 
  46. i have a rainbow pill-holder separated by days of the week; someday, i will make a stellar geriatric. 
  47. people are mosaics of inconsistencies and time and shiny paper.
  48. the pill holder starts with sunday, which pisses me off, because everyone knows that monday is the true beginning.
  49. the ocean is pretty much the best analogy for everything.
  50. it is mental health awareness month.
